Use this data type to point to another profile or subtype on a profile. This establishes a connection between the referring profile and the referred to profile allowing both profiles to display information about the other if desired.
An example of a Reference would be a Billing Supervisor property that references a User. You can see a person's billing supervisor on their profile and on the billing supervisor's profile, you can see all the people for whom they are the billing supervisor.
Properties using this datatype are stored as UNIQUEIDENTIFIER columns in the Reporting Database the point to the ID of the referenced type (eg: user.id or matter.id).
